It will be a violation of the lease to smoke or vape in the building (including your residence). Even if you don’t care about your lung health, nicotine leaves a tarter buildup the stains the walls of the apartment. This will mean an extra effort to clean the residence when you leave. Also, while you may not care about your lung health, your neighbors might. With that said, they will probably appreciate a smoke free environment.
If you wish to smoke, that is your choice, but you must smoke outside of the building. Anyone caught smoking in their residence will face an eviction notice. If you don’t feel you can control yourself to not smoke inside, then it would be in your best interest to search elsewhere.
