Water

One might just think about “cold” and “hot” water. However, in the locations, it will be so much more. There is also sewage which most people don’t think about unless something goes wrong. In addition to that, there will be heating lines, and a fire sprinkler system. Most of the plumbing lines will run in the center of the building – therefore eliminating the issues of freezing. For drinking water, there will be a filtration system to filter the water, and an osmosis system to kill anything left. This will assure that the water is as clean or cleaner than bottled water. The color codes are as follows:

Black: Sewage
Blue: Cold Water
Clear: Snow Melt System/Under Floor Heating
Orange: Fire Sprinkler
Red: Hot Water
White: City
There will also be a back flow preventer. This device will block sewage water from backing up in the basement. This is important for sanitation reasons to say the least. Obviously, the plumber will need access to this device for any maintenance, or repairs, but it will be well worth the cost.

FSP Realty will be responsible for the water service for any and all apartments. This is because it makes sense to have one meter, and that one meter will be for all of the building’s units. For those renting a house, you would be responsible for the water service. Keep in mind that Pittsburgh Water and Sewage Authority is pretty expensive in my opinion. If you would agree with me, you would want to be mindful of how much water you use if you are renting a house. =
